And how does gator jerky compare to pork rinds?
Well, it ain't crunchy, more chewy as ya' might gather,but the flavor is fine. Wonder if ya can make gator bacon?
Here is what I love about alligator: it's tasty (love it deep fried) AND it makes a quality handbag and good pair of shoes.
Now, if only you Flo-ridians could catch all those wayward pythons and do the same thing, we wouldn't need cattle ranching!

An' love me some gator tail! I particularly look forward, each year, to the Seminoles' annual Gator dinner. ;)
Moi, we'll always need our cattle ranches! They're purt near the only decent thang left around Dismal World. (Don't even get me started on pythons and other alien invasives!)

Well I love a good piece of alligator. But Florida doesn't have a lock on eclectic swings in dining. In Maryland you can go from fine dining at ego alley in Annapolis and an hour later enjoy some of the fine muskrat fixings at the Maryland’s Miss Outdoors Pageant

Gator Jerky - what an opportunity! Back when I lived in gator habitat they were still protected. All you saw was boiled peanuts offered.
Around here you are more likely to see elk jerky offered, but it will be farm raised. Not legal to sell wild wildlife neat. Our swanky restaurants are rarer, however. Soon to be off looking for some of that jerky, but sure hope it cools down some first!

After finishing a fine little chuckle I had a little tear. Sure, I've eaten gator before, if not jerky yet. I'm just not sure if it is proper to consume critters that are that close to being kin? :p
