great memorial day post AB.courage, we could all use some.

today, i am thinking of my father, a WWII vet and a few of my brother's high school friends, lost in Vietnam.

and i am thinking of all the soldiers who have lost their lives, or their hearts and souls, valiantly doing their best, even when their government has led them astray.

i do not support the war in Iraq, but by God, those young men and women deserve better than what our government is giving them. it's downright shameful - the lack of support our soldiers receive - both over there and when they come home.

surely as a people we have the courage to demand more for those our government puts in harm's way.

Excellent selections and great old pics. Not sure if Courage is the right word for the Vietnamese Boat People but...

They came here with NOTHING. Poorer than poor. Today, they're less than 1% of the population of Troll County.

But when the Troll County FISHING REPORT (and newspaper) prints the list of Honor Students about 50% have names like Nguen.

What a great collection, Aunty. And having employees who WERE boat people I can attest for their courage.

The baby shot is beautiful. I haven't seen that one for a long time. Thanks and Happy Happy MM!

Some great choices. My favorite is the man in front of the tanks in Tianamen Square. Now that's courage and I wish I'd thought of it too!

I like this interpretation, dear Aunty. Its a tough weekend in that my best friend is in Baghdad serving as an officer in the army...he is courageous, and I hope that I never have to hear about him losing friends again...
