Color to Drive For

O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stain'd
With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit
Beneath my shady roof; there thou may'st rest,
And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe,
And all the daughters of the year shall dance!
Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.

"The narrow bud opens her beauties to
The sun, and love runs in her thrilling veins;
Blossoms hang round the brows of Morning, and
Flourish down the bright cheek of modest Eve,
Till clust'ring Summer breaks forth into singing,
And feather'd clouds strew flowers round her head.

The spirits of the air live in the smells
Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees."
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,
Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

Fall is mah very favorite too! To walk along a leaf strewn path, toast some marshmallows over the fire, watch the foggy mist rise in the morning, make some rich dense soup....sleep with the fire cracking about ya'....

Hey Pup! Nope, honey, that William Blake is the REAL Blake--the English poet of classical lit. Git yore man to add a fireplace!

Artful--page expired--???

Page Expired? Oh, well you can search for a better version easily. They auctioned off a lock of CHE GUEVERA's hair!!

An Ex-CIA dude apparently had it for decades.

Beautiful photos.

I'm reading a book published by Penguine. The Secret Life of trees. Most interesting. Did you know that some trees predate written human history ?

Thanks for your comment on my blog a few weeks ago. I'm back BTW.

oh aunty belle,
seeing the fall colors is in on my list of things to see - and places to go, for surely the color of fall is a place.

for now, a place on a blog, a place in my head.

someday, when i can afford to take a fall semester off ...

i'll travel to the place of color in the fall.
