8 More years of Bush???

Ok, chillen's this heah is serious bidness:

There is a bipartisan proposal to abolish the 22nd amendment which states:

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-MD, and Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-WI is the scallywags behind this proposed change.

Ya'll want 8 more years of Bush? He cain't benefit, as it happens, but mebbe Jeb Bush would mosey on up to D.C. (That's be OK, fer me) and settle in fer 16 years??? No No...

Seems Dems and Repubs is tryin' ter make it so the next fella could hang out fer 16 year--this ain't a good plan a'tall, not fer elephants, nor donkeys. (Course, I thaink that sly Hilary is behind this heah attempt at settin' up tyranny)

LEt's us'uns holler this one down!

As much as I like Bush - and yes, I do, much to the dismay of most people - I think the 22nd should stay just like it is. Anything different would be crazy!!

Youse right OMW, crazzzzy!

I likes him too--'cept on immigration, and I think brother Jeb would make splendid pres, but 8 years is plenty...more looks too much like tyranny ter me.

How could an individual tolerate more than 8 years?

8 years is long enough. And- I think the same rules should apply to Senators- of course, if I ever become a Senator I'd want to milk that cow for as long as I could...
But that's a post for another day :)

hillary's not behind this... this bill has been floating around for awhile and it won't pass. relax.

it's a distraction from more important issues (like socialsecurity, the war in iraq, the war in afghanistan, votings rights, redesign of how we vote, education, health care, etc.)

however, one problem with term limits (as we've experienced them here in california) - just when someone understands how things work - they're gone. they spend their first term trying to get re-electeed and their second term trying to figure out how things work. nothin' gets done.
