Peacocks

*
Hope all y'all is well.

Granny is decline, an' this time I doan think she will fool the docs. She woan take no food, she hears us'uns, but she cain't respond much. She lies sweetly asleep most of the time. Granny loved her gardens....an' to die in Springtime will seem fittin', when all the earth is resurrected from winter, an' new green life leafing out, an' lovely blooms of every color burst forth- Spring is glorious.

Last year this time, we wuz visited by this beauty. Our huge trees sometimes play host to any number of critters, but this one stayed wif' us a few days. The peacock is symbolic in a number of cultures. Early Christians painted peacocks on the walls of the catacombs. It is a sign of immortality.

This photo is from the Catacombs of Priscilla--Granny visited it in Rome 22 years ago this Spring.

I ain't shure when I can git around to yore blogs, but I knows y'all will hold the fort.

Auntie, will be thinking of you and praying for Granny. Nothing grander on this earth than a life lived long and well. Hugs to you, and peace to Granny.

Y'all is so kind. Many thanks fer all yore prayers and good wishes.

It's helpin' cause.... we's in shock. Doctors in shock. Granny woke up an took some juice an said a few words that sounded perfectly normal an' meant somethin'.

She be so weak she uses a baby sippy cup. But she knows she's heah, an she knows who we all is. Mercy!

I reckon I better quit writin' "Granny is slippin'" posts, cause some how she must know what I done an' goes about her bidness to show me that I doan know nuthin' 'bout nuthin'. Ain't it grand!

Glad to see you out and about. How is granny doing? Nope, never count anybody out. People are nothing if not surprising.

Oh my goodness. I hardly know what to say. Like Karl, (who describes his ma as living in the land of the living dead), my Mama is also one of those in jeopardy. We have had the
" medicine has done all it can ..."
lecture multiple times. The grief is terrible yet she is still with us in spirit and intellect, trapped in a body which is failing. In some way, like you and precious Granny, it seems an assignment to bear the unbearable.

I am praying for you both.
Applause! Applause! for all you do.
I have no doubt Granny feels blessed by your generosity and vigilance.

Godspeed
