What do you talk about sittin' here?

Uncle dragged the old porch sofa off to the property edge so the trash fellas could crush it up in the jaws of them fancy new monster trucks.

Now thar's a bare space whar' the sofa lived. Since a clan member be's on watch wif Granny Cracker, we wuz gonna go out today to see what we might find to replace that ole wicker sofa.

Uncle said les' jes' git on over to the Home Depot or Lowes and fetch home one of them plastic made-to-look-like-wicker all weather thangs.

I wrinkled mah nose like I smelled somethin'.

We's definitely not in the same groove on the matter. So I hauled out the computer to the kitchen table so I could stir pots of vittles while I searched online fer a wicker sofa.

Afore long, I fell down a cyber hole of weird-butt chairs and funky sofas.

Here is the Love Chair

The wave sofa

A Weird Wicker

This here contraption I could git wif'-- I mean, under certain conditions of course. Like a remote Greek Isle.

An' in selected locales I might could tolerate these lounge chairs--mebbe overlookin'Big Sur.

But this stuff?

An now looky, what on earth does ya talk about iffin' youse sittin' in these thangs?

Thas' what I as't Uncle. He bent over the screen an peered at the picture.
"What ya reckon folks who sit in this kinda chair talk about?" I as't again. He grutnted:

"How beautiful Nancy Pelosi is an' how kewl Obama is."

Sheesh!
Suddenly, wicker looks good.

goog to hear a clan member is there to help and you can have a day to breathe and look at cool things .... or freaky things to sit on. Can you sit on those?

I love wicker and I have to admit I did buy some plastic wicker from Home Depot a few years ago because in my part of the world it gets more rain than sun. Still, there's NOTHING like good old fashioned white wicker.

Enjoy yourself today.

Most people like things in standard sizes and traditional shapes. I think those curvy, highbacked chairs that look like they came out of a Wacky Races cartoon would fit right in at my place...After all, I have a Court Jester sized bed.

gotta watch out for those cyber holes AB...

people don't talk about anything in some of those chairs - they're too busy squirming in them, trying to get comfortable.

A lot of those weird shapes are inspired by ergonomics, but I can't see putting my big but in some of those things. For a front porch I think wicker is perfect. Do let us know what you and uncle decided on.
